Very over-priced for a extremely simplistic map and a couple pages of description. Wouldn't recommend unless on sale.

Villainous Lairs: Amusement Park

Villainous Liars: Amusement Park is a 6-page PDF (4 pages if you remove the credits/OGL page) for Mutants and Masterminds written by Steve Kenson and published by Green Ronin Games.

The layout is a straight forward design, with an excellent full color cover and 2-column layout in the interior. The included map and (limited) interior art is also in full color.

The product is exactly what you would expect, how to use an amusement park as the lair of a super villain with an example park complete with map and story hooks. The material is short but direct, the map locations are given ideas for the trouble they can cause for heroes.

Three variations on the theme are discussed and five story hooks are provided ranging from the classic ‘carnival of crime’ to a ‘Murderworld’ styled set of death traps. While there is sufficient here to spark several adventures, a few non-player characters and perhaps some appropriately themed henchpeople would have rounded the product out nicely.

This product provides exactly what promises, ways to use amusement parks both as villain’s lairs and in general in a Mutant and Masterminds game. While designed to easily integrate into Mutants and Masterminds, it should be easy enough to adapt to any other superheroes RPG.

Disclosure: As a featured reviewer for RPGNow/DriveThroughRPG, I received my copy of this product for free from the publisher for the purpose of this review.
