Great bang-for-the-buck! Very well-written and well-illustrated, too. I appreciate the easy-to-follow layout as well as the design choices present within the pages. Fonts are clear and easy to read, the "aged paper" backgrounds on the pages add style without being distracting, and the stock photography used throughout is appropriate and well-placed. Good choice of Dean Spencer for the cover art, as well. It's a nice touch which really lends to the "classic" feel of the overall book design.

The author has clearly done their homework to ensure that the features in this add-on play nicely with the standard Low Fantasy rule set, and also speaks from the heart, with a short, detailed appendix offering notes on why certain decisions were made within the text.

The callbacks to classic D&D mechanics are plentiful and obvious, but not overbearing. This is clearly written to compliment the existing Low Fantasy system without bending it into something that it's not. The author's passion and care for the subject matter comes through clearly, and as a reader, I can feel their excitement and genuine interest in making something functional and accurate to the source material.

I feel the material in this toolkit isn't meant to be used as a one-off over the weekend, but is truly built to last. In a way, it brings to mind some of my favorite add-on books from years past, the memories of flipping through Defenders of the Faith or Song and Silence, making mental notes of all the new mechanics and wondering how I could work them into my own games. I can't see any rational GM rejecting any of the additional abilities present in this book - yes, they all seem that well thought-out!

Highly recommended to all Low Fantasy players, especially for those looking to add a little more to their games without "rocking the boat." As a GM, these are the kinds of books and ideas that you are glad to add to your campaigns, and as a player, these are the sorts of add-ons that can really make your characters come to life.

Lots and lots of cool options that are great to expand any Low Fantasy Gaming campaign. You get a lot of milleage for your money. Players in my game got very excited about this product and relished the new options that opened up for their characters.

More importantly, the book 'showed us the way', inspired us and got our gears grinding to think other similar options and features that we can come up for our game. I found a couple of specific abilities a bit unclear, but I was able to reach out to the author and clarify (and to be honest, I could have just resolved my questions myself, but it was nice to chat).

The kits are inspired in a few very cool tropes that we are all familiar with and that helps a lot in terms of flavor and personality. And then again, I showed this to my players and they absolutely loved it!
