When I buy pre written adventures, it's because i don't trust myself to write a good story and good NPCs, and events I cannot have without a lot of thinking. A good chronicle book will save me a lot of time and thinking. In this book none of the stories gave me surprising or inspiring ideas. Exemple: the "monster in the field" story is just a poor Call of Cthulhu adventure without any surprise, there is even a baaad ritual at the end!! The other chronicles are just not inspiring or compelling either. Trails of Ash and Bone is a lot better, if you really want a good chronicle book for Vampire or the WOD.

My copy, which was purchased back when it was Onyx Path Publishing that printed this and not Renegade Game Studios, came with some damage along the spine and rear cover of the book. The adventures inside themselves are pretty interesting and fleshed-out, but it's not my favorite book out of the line. It's also really weird to write a review for a book produced by one company and now distributed by another, but to be fair, this is at least one failure with V5 overall that I can't lay at Renegade's feet.

at first I was delighted my book arrived quickly and earlier then expected. only to discover pages with creases wrinkles and folds. I even found a page with a huge chunk ripped out of the page. Looked all over and cannot find a way to report the damages.

Onyx Path Publishing digs deeper into Chicago, and its nearing neighbours.

For those Storytellers looking for a way to break the ice:

  • Power Prey introduces the coterie to questionable Kindred and qualms about what they could become. It raises the stakes, putting something on the line that's personal. I highly recommend it as a start in general, but also for Chicago.

  • The Dying Fields gives a new setting, feeling as if the walls close in. A small town, fewer vessels to feed from. Those small-time elements of mystery, eerie cult-isms. Its a great story for those having strayed from the path and ended up someplace strange. Where the trees grow tall, and the crows come to call.

  • Innocence in Blood provides you with all you'll need to give Lupines more of a presence in your chronicles, starting with this one in particular. Giving varying types of Lupine, and their Kinfolk you give the fight of your unlife. Best of luck to you.

  • Rusted Jungle brings Gary Indianna into the forefront. Stepping it up to Chicago to show it what its got. Fall into the befallment of the Circulatory System and the waging war between Camarilla and Anarchs, Gary and Chicago, as tensions grow.

In addition to the spread of awesome SPCs included, you'll find statblocks aplenty. Ghouls, Lupine, Mortals.

New Blood Sorcery Rituals, the Roadside Killer predator type, and Loresheets.

Finally, the Ready-Made Characters so you can dive straight-on in. This is the start of something great, enjoy your stay.

The book is bland and uninspiring. Even the revisiting stuff feels like a mandate.

What a great set of stories and ideas - this really expands on what the game can be and how things might fit together. Importantly these stories can be moved around and held anywhere and work for beginners and experienced coteries alike - a great purchase for anyone looking to run some premade jump stories, or see how the WoD can be approached slightly differently.

This, like Chicago Folios, is a book for the storyteller; it has probably some of the best scenarios for V5. It is a big book, comprising 250 pages; divided into sections similar to Chicago by Night and Chicago Folios; however, what makes this book of particular interest to me as ST is rules that are included in side bars for things such as Lupines, Lupine kinfolk and sections on Antagonists and Loresheets. The second half of the book has Kindred biographies of SPCs that can be easily dropped into your game. Best of all, you get a pretty indepth overview of Kindred domains such as Indianapolis and Milwaukee. Also, you get whole new Blood Sorcery rituals that can be introduced and that like the Loresheets are linked to these two domains. Overall, the quality of the POD is much better and improved from previous POD books Ive bought here, the page quality is decidedly better, not the previous chalky paper, this is a glossy paper similar to the traditionally printed books of V5 by Modiphius; Im so impressed with the quality that I purchased a second copy, (premium color, its more expensive but the quality and vibrancy of the color is excellent).

Well, 4 different type of Vampire The Masquerade V5 story. 4 different scenario, all take place near Chicago. From Milwakee to Gary, from Indianapolis to a rural area in Indiana or in Illinois. This sourcebook is very helpfull to breath V5 mood and to go deep what happen to the Domain of Chicago.

Take a breath and... read it !

Let the Streets Run Red is a collection of stories for Vampire: the Masquerade 5th Edition (V5). Each story presents a unique tale to tell at your table and unlike many prior campaign books or supplements provides options for how to run each one from either the Camarilla or Anarch point of view. Storyteller Player Characters are given full character treatment so that they don’t end up feeling one-dimensional and there’s enough material to continue using the setting telling many stories of your own. The book contains several new Lore Sheets for V5. There’s a good mix of them that are tied directly to the characters or locations within the stories and others that have a loose affiliation or no connection at all that can work in any setting your game is occurring in. Included are several pre-generated characters that can be used for groups new to the game, existing games that want to take a break and try something different, or just more ready-made SPCs for the Storyteller to use. The four stories present a variety of different challenges for the players to face. Power Prey - The focus in this story is what lengths will the characters go to in order to protect their touchstones. The Dying Fields - This story takes the characters out of the city and brings them to a town with more corn than people. Innocence in Blood - Honestly I wish this story didn’t suffer at the constraints of page space. There’s a lot more that Milwaukee and Indianapolis have to offer and this story could have been the foundations of its own supplement. Rusted Jungle - For anyone who knows the history that Vampire the Embraced has with Gary Indiana, this story will feel like an old friend. For those who don’t, it still is a fun story.
