Cubicle 7 are on fire at the moment ! Great game with a accessible system that allows for a variable depth of complexity and a setting which allows for a breadth of play style depending on your tastes - if you want to lose yourself in some true fantasy roleplay then give this fun game a run for its money - you wont be disappointed.

Firstly in response to the previous 1 star review - page 196 Shock healing rules under respite. Check out C7 social media where they have provided a reporting form to assist with editing prior to going to print.

I am massive fan of Cubicle 7 and loved the work they did on WHFRP and i am looking forward to the AOS Rpg.

It was always going to be tricky for C7 to pick up WG and improve it without overly changing the core game. I believe they have done a great job - the layout is great, writing is clear and the art stunning.

Character creation is straight forward and the rules provide for a robust 40k experiance.

The 40k setting is vast and the information provided gives enough for both experienced players and beginners alike in explaining the theme and tone of the game.

The Gilead system is a little dry but the comprehensive bestiary means you can draw upon the vast number of resources available to have fun and flesh out the system, play in other parts of the cannon or make up your own.

As a 40 year old WARHAMMER veteran (1st,2nd,3rd Edition RPGS) i must say i am very impressed with this game.

The production quality is high and the content well written and engaging - hitting the right tone in regards to grim and perilous dark british humor.

The art work is inspiring and matchs the tone of the game.

The rules are fun and pay homage to the original edition but with modern design elements supported with great optional rules.

The game may have a steep learning curve for new rpgers but that is overcome with the starter set recently released by C7.

C7 are a brillant company who have produced a great game - the Old World lives on and is safe in their hands. I must say that i look forward to the upcoming Age of Sigmar RPG.

It is a golden age of RPGS with fantasy games in there many variations very much at the fore to the point it can be difficult to distinguish wheat from the chaff - if you want something engaging, gritty, inspiring and ultimately fun then pick this up.
