After a successful kickstarter campaign and delivering our product to over 700 backers, we are launching Tabletopy software on DriveThruRPD!

Tabletopy is a friendly audio software for Windows that brings beautiful, immersive sound effects and ambient music to tabletop games. If you are looking for a soundboard for all your tabletop gaming needs, Tabletopy has arrived to provide gamers with enough ambient sound and sound effects to turn even the simplest quest into an engaging adventure. Now, you can set the stage in a way never seen before, increasing production value and bringing your games to a new level.

Moving on to the main features of Tabletopy, the soundboard offers six unique categories that provide specific sounds to suit different situations. The interface divides the effects into separate tabs that users can seamlessly switch. Sounds remain active when switching between tabs, and the volume of each individual sound can be stopped or adjusted independently, allowing for multiple layers of dynamic audio.

Below is a summary of each tab available, the kind of sounds and sound effects it offers, and when these might be ideal to use.

CAMPAIGN

Within this tab, game masters can find a choice of sounds that subtly color most encounters. It serves the purpose of a quick reference sheet for action or atmospheric sounds that are commonplace in most fantasy-themed campaigns, including jingling and clattering coins, scribbling on parchment, the crackling of a lit torch, or the roar of a frightening monster.

Perhaps the party is in a tavern, and they see a hooded figure in the corner counting coins. Whenever the players travel by cart or on horseback, encounter a dragon or force open a stiff cell door in a dungeon, this tab has any game master covered with its broad selection of sounds.

AMBIANCE

This tab provides a genuine atmospheric experience for the players. Besides familiar effects, such as rain, snowstorm, and thunder, game masters also have access to the sounds of different biomes. Tabletoby offers the background noises of forests, pastures, swamps, caves, and even a village for when your group of adventurers is feeling sociable.

Describing the environment to the players is one thing, but allowing them to hear the fire crackling as they rest in a shallow cave from the rain is another experience altogether. The ambience section takes a weight off the game master when setting a scene and eases off the reliance on theatre of the mind.

A huge number of nature soundscapes let you use this app not only to supplement your tabletop experience, but also for studying, meditation, or sleeping (thanks to the integrated sleep timer).

COMBAT

The combat tab contains many of the sounds and effects one would expect to hear in combat. Swords clashing, hand-to-hand combat, spell casting, canon fire, and explosions. Even armies marching or the general madness of a battlefield are included.

combat

Whatever the combat encounter, whether the fights are large or small, with weapons or magic, the combat tab has the right kind of options for a wide range of game masters. Making turn-based combat immersive and dynamic becomes a breeze when each hit by a player or an NPC can be punctuated with a high-quality sound effect.

MUSIC

In the music tab, game masters can discover a selection of looping songs that vary in instruments and arrangement depending on the desired tone, including Medieval Theme, Exploration, Mystery, and Suspense among others. Some can even be layered together, providing even greater freedom of creativity and expression for users.

music

Perhaps the GM requires a pleasant, dulcet tune for a relaxing place that the party can enjoy. Or maybe, they wish to inspire a sense of awe and motivation with a rhythmic exploration theme. This section contains music for these occasions and many more for the majority of situations.

CRAFTS

Within this tab, players can find a choice of sounds corresponding to different professions, crafts. Whenever you visit a blacksmith or an alchemist, go hunting or fishing, this tab has you covered with its comprehensive selection of sounds.

DM TOOL

The DM Tool tab contains action and event sounds. When accenting a situation like rolling initiative, finding a new location, or leveling up, this section holds multiple sound bites that perfectly punctuate these moments.

Similar to how this class of sound effects finds its use in video games, Game masters can use this tab to expand their story-telling capabilities and retain or refocus the attention of all players at a table.

Tabletopy soundboard is designed for tabletop roleplaying games such as Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, and many others. It provides exciting features for gamemasters and players alike, facilitating an immersive roleplaying experience for players regardless of skill level. Whether you are brand new to the game or a veteran player, you will find this an invaluable resource.

Next time your run a session, don't settle for the theatre of the mind. If the party engages a dragon, let them hear its roar. If they want to stop by a tavern for a drink, let them hear the music and chatter. Engaging the player and increasing overall verisimilitude has never been easier.

Does this allow use of your own sounds? What formats does it support (i.e., ogg)?

Hi!
Am I right in understanding that this and the free version are not suitable for online rpg? On Discord or similar it doesn't carry the voice to all users.

Hello! We spent a year on development, so there is no free version of the software. With our license, you can use it also online for personal usage (among your friends, for example, when you play together), but is not intended for commercial use. Regards.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
