THE TWELVE CONCEPTS FOR TRUSTED SERVICE "Window Shade" Poster

This old-timey "window shade"-style poster summarizes the entire gamemaster's guide, boiled down into TWELVE CONCEPTS FOR TRUSTED SERVICE. (It forms a nice set with the other window shade poster, THE TWELVE TRADITIONS OF CIRCLE & TRIANGLE, which distills the players' handbook.) 

This is a 12x18-inch poster, printed on premium poster paper. (As with all DriveThruRPG posters, it's folded once for shipment.)

The Twelve Concepts for Trusted Service are:

I. The first role of the Trusted Servant (TS) is that of a stage producer and adventure crafter—the TS prepares a story or sandbox for the players to explore.

II. The second role of the Trusted Servant is that of an even-handed referee and neutral facilitator of table customs—when necessary, the TS arbitrates the “game mechanics.”

III. The third role of the Trusted Servant is that of a supporting actor—the TS brings the various Bogeymen and Friends of the Fellowship to life through acting and narration. Occasionally, the TS even appears within the frame of the story, as an enigmatic yet helpful guide, fittingly named “Trusted Servant.”

IV. Unity in Diversity. The rainbow of human diversity is welcome at the table—the only requirement for C&T membership is a desire to recover from glumness. Likewise, there are many different formats for a Circle & Triangle game.

V. Keep it moving. It's important to get the game into action.

VI. Share the spotlight.

VII. The TS isn't the director. Players have creative agency as co-authors of the story. But when offering a pre-designed scenario, the Trusted Servant is empowered to let the players know when they are veering off-topic.

VIII. Encourage creativity.

IX. Set the example.

X. Use what you have.

XI. Ours is a warmhearted game of fallible but helpful, occasionally somewhat heroic “not saints.”

XII. Circle & Triangle isn't about belabored slogging or violent gruesomeness. Remember the K.I.S.S. principle—Keep it Short and Sweet.
