One raygun wielding lunatic bent on world destruction

This action-packed, true to the cinematic nature of Torg, novel introduces my group of Storm Knights, undertaking a mission to stop what could be a world-killing calamity, gives you villains worthy of the name, and an explosive outcome written to leave you breathless one minute and wanting to play the game yourself, the next.

This is the companion novel to the adventure, Possibility Blackout, based on Before the Dawn which was, originally, the box set adventure written by Greg Gorden for the original Torg: Role-Playing the Possibility Wars.  I have updated that adventure for Torg Eternity and released it, here, in 2018.  This novel uses the name of the original adventure, but the updated adventure as a framework for the story in this novel.

It's fantastic that us fans are expanding the wider lore of Torg, especially since Torg Eternity hasn't produced original fiction yet (the Cracking Tales series are more just reposts with minor lore changes to fit the updated setting). I am curious though as to the process of getting your novel approved for publication by Ulisses Spiele and posted here on DriveThru. Is the process fairly easy for them to approve? I've been thinking of likewise contributing to the Torg Eternity setting but am unsure as to the approval process. Thank you very much and have a good rest of the day.

I didn't ask for approval, actually. The Possibility Blackout adventure, which is a 2E re-write of Before the Dawn, from the O-Torg box set, was the impetus to write the novel. I didn't even have a name for the novel before I was done with most of it. Possibility Blackout is not a good name for an adventure and I, likewise, could not think of a better name for the novel, so I stole the name of the original adventure and just made sure I credited Greg Gorden and all the right folks for providing. As something of a backup, I also included the stats of the Knights from my story in the back, after their improvements.

I've been thinking a great deal about publishing at least one more novel, but I need to figure out a unique story and run with it. It's tough to write a novel, I've found, but I also find I would like to write another.

I intend to build the module for Possibility Blackout to be used on Foundry VTT and, once that's ready, I will try to update that, here. There are other projects coming down the road, as well, but may be some time in coming.

I hope you enjoy this novel, as it has been a true labor of love.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
