Bundle price:
 $1.40CAD
Format:
 Watermarked PDF
Welcome to issue 37 of the RolemasterBlog Fanzine. This month we have a low-level adventure, Goblin Mine. An adventure designed to teach players to think smart. Charge! is not always the best tactic. Allegedly at least. I also look at Blood Guts & Glory, Light Master and A Slight Mistake. All clones of Rolemaster and spacemaster. Finally, I talk about Navigator RPG and Pilot RPG. The first is out now and the second is planned for late 2020....

RolemasterBlog Fanzine Issue 38
Regular price: $1.86CAD
Bundle price:
 $1.40CAD
Format:
 Watermarked PDF
Welcome to issue 38 of the RolemasterBlog Fanzine. There was a bit of excitement this month when we heard that Hurin and Tbigness were going to be given some special RMu materials for GenCon. It is really sad that today Gen Con announced that the convention was cancelled for 2020. We are now all waiting to see what happens in the Virtual GenCon! In other news, and happier news Brian Hanson, Egdcltd and I are in discussion about producing another series of 50 adventures in 50 weeks. Only this time, making them a bit more substantial, more maps and more stats. We even want to cross stat them with other systems, in the hope of rekindling fond memories of Rolemaster with OSR dungeon crawling style players. This Issue This month we have two adventures. The first is a scalable adventure we...

RolemasterBlog Fanzine Issue 39
Regular price: $1.86CAD
Bundle price:
 $1.40CAD
Format:
 Watermarked PDF
Welcome to issue 39 of the RolemasterBlog Fanzine. GenCon is going to be a Virtual GenCon this year. That is better than cancelled, but I still think that it is a real shame that the Con could not go ahead. These are the times we live in, and we have to make the best of them as we can. The most positive is that a version of RMu will be there to be played. Soon I will be able to drop the small ‘u’ and what we will have is RM, the one system to rule them all. I hope that everyone reading this knows that the ICE forums are back online, with virtually no loss of data! Adventures! In this issue are two ‘sort of’ adventures. I blogged about this at the beginning of the month. Urban adventures are hard. Both the adventures I have written this month are more like subplots you can drop on t...

RolemasterBlog Fanzine Issue 40
Regular price: $1.86CAD
Bundle price:
 $1.40CAD
Format:
 PDF
Welcome to issue 40 of the RolemasterBlog Fanzine. As I write this Gen Con online is in full swing. I am pleased to say that ICE and Rolemaster is being well represented. I have read plenty of praise for both Hurin’s and Wolfshield’s game mastering. With RMu getting ever closer, I am going to continue with the theme of publishing adventures. All games are going to need gameable content. When I started the blog many years ago, it was in response to a question ‘Where is all the gameable content?’ I am not sure a public forum, such as the blog is the right place to publish adventures. It is always disappointing to have a player obviously know the ending of an adventure. Someone suggested making the fanzine a Patreon funded effort. The patreon supporters would get the magazine for f...

RolemasterBlog Fanzine Issue 41
Regular price: $1.86CAD
Bundle price:
 $1.40CAD
Format:
 PDF
Welcome to issue 41 of the RolemasterBlog Fanzine. August saw some cool announcements for RMu. Arms & Character Law are through editing, art is commissioned, and the book in Layout. Spell Law is in editing. We also have a new ETA for the first half of 2021. The project to build a beginner adventure path has started again. I am not a part of that, but it looks like another stab at the Grand Campaign. There are conversion guidelines in progress, so old Shadow World books will be usable with the new ruleset. It is really looking like 2021 could be the year that ICE comes out of hibernation. In this issue I look at mapping sources and resources, dungeons, castles, manor houses, villages and wilderness. I also look at some no-magic setting, games that could be played with Arms & Charact...

RolemasterBlog Fanzine Issue 42
Regular price: $1.86CAD
Bundle price:
 $1.40CAD
Format:
 PDF
Welcome to issue 42 of the RolemasterBlog Fanzine. This month is all about urban adventure. Most of the issue is taken up with a complicated adventure of warring factions, curses from the past, and powerful artifacts that no one wants on the loose. My goal is to scare your players and put them in fear of their character's lives. What is not to love about that?...

RolemasterBlog Fanzine Issue 43
Regular price: $1.86CAD
Bundle price:
 $1.40CAD
Format:
 PDF
Welcome to issue 43 of the RolemasterBlog Fanzine. I am writing this on November 1st, which is All Saints’ Day. The reason we have an all saints day is that in the beginning, each saint had a holy day, where no work was done. As the number of saints days increased, so did the number of holy days. Eventually, something had to give, and the solution was to merge all the minor saints’ holy days into one day. All Saints is really “All the other Saints”. Tomorrow is All Souls Day, and yesterday was, of course, Hallow’s Eve. Traditionally, people would dress like the saints they venerated and form colorful processions collecting donations from people. The dates of Hallow’s Eve, All Saints, and All Souls were conveniently placed to coincide with a much older Samhain festival duri...

RolemasterBlog Fanzine Issue 44
Regular price: $1.86CAD
Bundle price:
 $1.40CAD
Format:
 PDF
Welcome to issue 44 of the RolemasterBlog Fanzine. This is another two adventure issue of the Rolemaster Fanzine. I wanted to broaden the scope a little bit this time. One adventure focuses on a tribe of giants on the rampage. The adventure is one where the numbers and the strength of arms are likely to lay with the monsters rather than the characters, so a more intelligent approach may be needed. The weakest giants start at about 6th level, so this is not a starting adventure. There are a couple more surprises built into this one that can catch your characters out. The second adventure is more in the style of a horror movie. There is a race against time, with lives hanging in the balance, unusual creatures, and environmental hazards... and people get thrown out of upstairs windows jus...

RolemasterBlog Fanzine Issue 45
Regular price: $1.86CAD
Bundle price:
 $1.40CAD
Format:
 PDF
Welcome to issue 45 of the RolemasterBlog Fanzine. I am starting a new 2021 project in this issue. The Citadel at Sabre Lake is a Dyson Logos map of an entire river valley, complete with many locations. In this issue I take two locations and stat them up as adventure sites. The first is centred on The Fool's Rush Inn, and the second is Hebrek's Tower. For the foreseeable future the fanzine will explore this map and detail more of the locations to build an entire region you can drop into your campaigns. I will only use monsters from Creatures & Treasures I (RM2/RMC), Creations & Monsters (RMSS/RMFRP) and the forthcoming Creature Law (RMu). DriveThruRPG does not support community copies. If you cannot afford the $1.50 asking price at this time of year the entire fanzine is r...

RolemasterBlog Fanzine Issue 46
Regular price: $1.86CAD
Bundle price:
 $1.40CAD
Format:

Welcome to issue 46 of the RolemasterBlog Fanzine. This is another double adventure location issue. Something stange happened in Tondredu Inga, it happened a long time ago, and it is still a place where the locals avoid, or never return! Kestro Plateau, is the location of a long disused Druidic stronghold. There are dark mysteries hidden beneath this burial mound. For the foreseeable future the fanzine will explore the Sabre Lake [Dyson Logos] map and detail more of the locations to build an entire region you can drop into your campaigns. I will only use monsters from Creatures & Treasures I (RM2/RMC), Creations & Monsters (RMSS/RMFRP) and the forthcoming Creature Law (RMu). DriveThruRPG does not support community copies. If you cannot afford the $1.50 asking price at thi...

RolemasterBlog Fanzine Issue 47
Regular price: $1.86CAD
Bundle price:
 $1.25CAD

 PDF
Welcome to issue 47 of the RolemasterBlog Fanzine. Welcome to issue 47 of the RolemasterBlog Fanzine. As I sit down to prepare this month’s issue, I cannot help but feel that the issues are coming around really quickly. Then I remembered it was February and everything comes around fast! I am getting into a new method or technique for writing adventures. It is called the 7-3-1 method, and I have included an article about it and a link to the original source in this issue. I am also exploring the Citadel on Sabre Lake, this time to East of Hebrek’s Tower, towards the Dench Estate and the Violet Obelisk. I will only use monsters from Creatures & Treasures I (RM2/RMC), Creations & Monsters (RMSS/RMFRP) and the forthcoming Creature Law (RMu). DriveThruRPG does not support c...

RolemasterBlog Fanzine Issue 48
Regular price: $1.86CAD
Bundle price:
 $1.34CAD
Format:
 PDF
Welcome to issue 48 of the RolemasterBlog Fanzine. Welcome to issue 48 of the RolemasterBlog Fanzine. The fanzine is now 4 years old! 48 monthly issues!  I am having one of those ‘Where has all the time gone?’ moments. It doesn’t feel like I have written 48 issues of this. Of the 47 issues already published, 13 are DriveTruRPG bestsellers with at least Copper medals. Altogether, they have sold nearly 1,700 copies.  I played around with print-on-demand versions in the early days, and those will be back starting in the summer. I will be putting the fanzine out as PDF on DTRPG and Kindle and in print from June onwards. I started the fanzine because, at the time, ICE seemed to be in retreat. The Guild Companion had started as a printed magazine, then as an online-only magazine, ...

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
