100 Modern Street Encounters (DS&DS)

This supplement has 100 encounters characters could have in the dark city in Dark Streets & Darker Secrets. In keeping with the game's darker theme, these encounters will be appropriately dark in some way. There may be criminal activities going on, violence, both deliberate and random, and dark plots by sinister groups. Many of the encounters allow characters to roll to determine the truth; in some they may have to delve deeper to find out what's really going on. The encounters can be used to enliven a city street or as a source of potential adventure hooks. It is a heavily modified version of 100 Events for a Modern Street.

This PDF supports Adobe layers and the page backgrounds and images can be disabled to make printing easier.

Here are some sample results:

• Overhead Cables: A crew is working on some electrical cables. Scaffolding stands on each side of the road and netting has been strung between the pylons to ensure that the cables don't fall to the ground. One of the workers slips as they are watched and their safety line comes lose. They tumble into one of the cables and are electrocuted, causing a few power surges as well. The accident wasn't an accident; the worker belonged to a criminal organisation and they were killed by a rival. A day later, the worker's soul will arise as a 3 HD Ghost.
• People: A group of rowdy and drunk young men on a stag do are making their way noisily down the street, shouting comments and whistling at any attractive women. One of the women they shout at is a 4 HD Lust Daemon, who will attempt to seduce one of the young men away from the others to feed on them.
• People: A pair of joggers wearing earphones are jogging down the pavement. Though they seem legitimate, they are two undercover 2 HD Police Officers.
• People: A pedestrian trips and falls heavily to the pavement, suffering 1 point of damage as they do. The pedestrian falling over wasn't an accident, but was the work of a 1 HD Pixie that is playing pranks on those passing.
• People: A smoker standing in a doorway asks for a light. They are a 1 HD Thug looking for suitable marks.
