Trades of Terrinoth

ADD TO WISHLIST >

The REALMS OF TERRINOTH sourcebook offers 8 career options for players. However, throughout the book, many more careers are casually mentioned such as: Bards, Runemasters, Knights, Necromancers, and Spiritspeakers.

In DESCENT (also set in Terrinoth), 36 different classes are given as options for players. In this work, these classes have been converted to 36 careers for the GENESYS system! These new options offer many of the more common careers of fantasy settings along with some new intriguing options for special abilities, and ways to spice up career options in general.

In addition, the abilities of some of these careers involve familiars, and 2 new creatures are given, the Stone Sentry and the Soul Shadow. More will be added in an additional expansion, Terrinoth Talents, coming soon!

Adversary cards for the familiars are included with this product.

This product is a supplement for the REALMS OF TERRINOTH setting. Though the supplement is set in the world of Mennara, it can be converted for use in your own fantasy world. The GENESYS CORE RULEBOOK (CRB), REALMS OF TERRINOTH setting (RoT), and either Genesys Dice or the Genesys Dice App are required to use this product.

quick question on geomancer. the terracall ability allows the summon of the stone sentry. in the stat block you have it listed as a minion, however it has 2 ranks of brawl. this goes against the standard minion rules. with the created talents you can have up to 3 stone sentries. how would you rule the brawl check with the additional summons? fyi i have a character that is creating a earth bender and is loving the build btw. just looking for some clarification.

Sure. Though a minion by power level, it acts more as a familiar and a singular character, so in playtesting there was a need for it to have singular stats. When 3 or more are present, it should follow the standard minion rules instead.

Geomancer starting gear isn't listed. Just shoes the summon able creature optional bonus ability.

I checked the copy, but it's there right under the Stone Sentry info. Bottom Right of the page. However, it's:

• A magic staff or magic wand

• 1 stamina elixir

• Heavy robes

• 1d100 silver coins

Hello, I like the product so far. Looks pretty good though I am a little confused. Probably just being dumb. on page 8 for battlemage, it mentions it has Melee(heavy) But under the optional starting equipment it mentions it having a sword as its weapon option. Swords are Melee(light) is the skill correct or do they have Melee(Light) and its a typo? Sorry, probably just the starter weapon but I wanted to be sure.

It should be Melee (Light). This week I'm going to do another round of edits on it to catch any remaining like this. Thanks.

Very nice supplement but there are a few issues: The Geomancer (p9) has career skills cut and pasted for Conjurer. The Runemaster (p11) has Arcana rather than Runes as a career skill. Also, classifying the new careers doesn’t account for all of the existing Terrinoth careers. What class would an Envoy, Scoundrel or Scholar fit into? Are the Mage or Primalist now obsolete, like the Scout and Warrior? And regarding the Special Ability, is this a replacement for Heroic Abilities? Perhaps it might have been better to list appropriate talents (like Shadow of the Beanstalk) rather than introduce new rules. Anyway perhaps this will become clearer with your forthcoming Talent expansion. Cracking stuff anyway, despite those comments- these kind of supplements are exactly the thing Realms of Terrinoth needs.

Thanks for the feedback! Yep, it sounds like some of my corrections didn't make it in the last revision. I'll check the ones you mentioned.
As for the existing careers in the RoT book, they are still perfectly playable, this just provides additional options, with the ones in RoT being kind of generic.
The Special Ability isn't a replacement for Heroic Abilities, it's just an ability that all with that career are assumed to have. (In Descent, they are the starting abilities for those classes).
I do think the Talent expansion will clarify things somewhat. Thanks again for helping to identify those issues!
EDIT: Revision now posted!

Not that it is a big deal, but one other thing I noticed is that the Wildlander is the "consummate archer" but his starting gear does not include a bow, but rather a light melee weapon. He also has Ranged as a career skill and no Melee. I assume that is an oversight. I apologize in advance if I notice little things here and there.

Chris, I do see a few formatting errors especially with the gear itself and the names of the classes. For instance, the Soul Reaper has a paragraph introducing their starting gear at the bottom of page 5 yet the class is listed on page 6. Another example is that on page 7, you list the starting gear for a Heretic under the Watchman description. It appears to be different gear, but the intro paragraph states Heretic.

I'll check, may just be copy errors. Thanks. If so, I'll make corrections and post a revised version.

NOTE: One career, the "Truthseer" uses the new Psychic skill introduced in Scott Zumwalt's "Zynnythryx's Guide to Magic" product.

Another career, the "Monk" could benefit greatly by integrating rules from Keith Kappel's "Ready...Fight" product.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
