I was already using a similar approach in the games I run, and this has been a very helpful resource for me to buff them out a bit more. There are so many suggestions in here for how to use skills in different adventure contexts. This approach works really well for treating an adventure as a montage that you can zoom in on here and there rather than as a series of set points along the way. I like all the suggestions about skills to use, as well as the ideas for complications and consequences. Anyone who is wondering how to make journeys between plot points interesting would get value from the section on Travel Skill Adventures. The book helped me build a mass combat skill adventure and on completely the other side of the spectrum, a medical skill adventure. It is a great tool for any Genesys GM to have.

No Star Wars artwork in this book. That would be a major violation of copyright. However, it does have that feel (for a reason). Most images came from Dean Spencer ( He is an excellent artist (as are the others) with reasonable prices. The other artists are listed as well.

This is a lost of money and time. I though I was buying some adventure setting and stories but no. This is just a document that explain what you should do if you want to create this type or that type of adventure. I know how to do that, I wanted a bunch of quick adventure module in different setting and it's not.

By reading the description you could have saved yourself a lot of time. It is rather clear that this book presents Skill Challenges and not generic adventures. I am sorry for the confusion.

Finally broke down and got this. Wasn't sure what Skill Adventures were. From just a skim so far, looks pretty handy. I see the author is a big fan of some of my favorite DTRPG artists too, hehe. While I can't enter reviews, I'll come back after reading it more and leave one here in discussions. Tip for authors, format the Genesys font characters to have a text outline, and they'll be more visible and resemble those in the official publications. Took me a bit to realize it too. Looks like a really well put together product so far.

Rule System(s)
Original electronic
Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
