What is Epic Wanderers? It is an EPIC supplement for the Micro Chapbook RPG system. It offers extra rules add-ons and changes to help you create super powerful and heroic characters for the game system. This included higher starting stats, gold, health, and willpower. Additionally, each new race and class included has a special ability only they can use.

Tired of dying? Give an EPIC character a whirl. 

You will need one of the core rulebooks in the Micro Chapbook RPG system. You can download them via the Micro Chapbook RPG page for free or with a small donation (much appreciated). 

For your ease, core rulebooks in this system have white text for their titles and supplements have colored text. 

This file includes both the full-color and printer-friendly versions. Simply print off the two rules pages back-to-back, fold in half, and you have a complete supplement.

This is pretty cool, easy and straight forward. However, I'm unclear on how Epic attributes (over 6) are supposed to work. You go from always succeeding (rolling 1d6 and rolling under 6) to actually rolling two dice and therefore having a 50%+ chance of failure. Am I reading it wrong or is there a mistake here?

Matthew. That is correct. It certainly isn't a perfect system, I realize, but for pushing the character higher, this is how it works. I realized the possible trouble with this after this supplement was released. You could choose to cap your stats at 5 per the normal rules. Then, the stronger the character gets, the only way to fail is to roll a 6. If you have another suggestion, feel free to share! Thanks for playing!

Hey just looking at the math, the chance of rolling 9 or under with two dice is the same as rolling 5 or under with one (83.33%). So you could go from 5 to 9 (or 8 or 10 to make it harder or easier).

Every new chapbook makes me more and more impressed with this system, and how simple it is to hack. I made a character last night, and wanted the +1 ST bonus, but didn't just want to be a Human. So I wrote down Minotaur in that space. He's cleared two goblin warrens so far, and I'm digging it. Please keep em coming. My dream wishlist so far is Warrens of the Rat King, Carnival of Horror, and Death in the Desert.

Ooh, hadn't thought of that. I could see a chapbook with a map on one page, and the other 3 describing the dungeon, or a single chapbook with up to 4 pre-generated small dungeons/large encounters, depending on how you are able to do layout stuff. I see that second option as something that can be done as some little one-offs between full adventures, or possibly have all 4 be linked by a narrative.

If I had a vote for something that may actually manifest, how about the Epic Explorer's Accessory Pack: two chapbooks, one being 4 generic character sheets, and the other containing a World sheet from Explorers and 3 Epic character sheets (leader and 2 companions). This would just be a convenience thing, though. Maybe save a little ink here or there, especially since we're going to be playing these a lot cooped up like we are.

Also, System Breach was a fun surprise. However, the equipment lists are still printed 'g' instead of 'c' next to the costs.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
