Bring your fantasy city to life with 'Trading Places' a range of system-neutral products for your campaigns.

Each product in the range details a single place of business, with colourful NPCs, rumours, adventure ideas, a detailed map and key of the building and more.

In every adventurer's life there is a time when they find themselves short of coin to finance their next expedition. Of course, the successful ones eventually grow rich and make a profit from their ventures but the unsuccessful ones die trying. Who then would lend money to such individuals when their death is ass likely, if not more so, as their making good on tier loans? Why money lenders, of course, people like Malbecco who have high-interest rates and somewhat dubious business practices. Of course, it isn't just adventurers that the loan-shark lends money to. He specialises in 'high risk' loans, but when you borrow money form Malbecco the risk is all yours because the only way to avoid paying him back both the loan and the scandalous interest he charges is to die trying. No one wants a visit from his boys.

This product is designed to be usable with any fantasy RPG system and presents a fully detailed money lenders business, his house and place of business.

Included in this product you will find;-

Full-colour maps of Malbecco the moneylender's premises, complete with a detailed key,

Background information about the moneylender, his business and his organisation,

Rumours pertaining to Malbecco the moneylender,

Numerous adventure hooks to help you use this product in your games,

System neutral details on Malbecco and several of his most valued associates.

Some Sample Adventure Ideas From This Product

3/. The Love of Money is the Root Of Evil

Of late Malbecco has been growing crueller than ever before. Always a bad man, his methods are increasingly extreme with kidnappings of family members and all sorts of other escalating punishments for none payment. He is now actively lending to those he knows can't pay so that he can take away their businesses and homes or even sell their family into indentured servitude or slavery. He is growing so vile that even some of his usual enforcers have begun to become concerned and are having reservations. Can the PCs stop the slide into malevolence and is there something more than just greed behind it?

10/. It has to Come From Somewhere!

Malbecco is puzzled, and he hates puzzles.  Especially when he is losing money as a result of the puzzle.  Of late many of his long-term debtors - people who had no hope of ever paying off the money, they owed him… have paid off the money they owed him.  In full.  With the extortionate interest, he was demanding.  If one of these people had done this, it would be remarkable but this morning saw a fifth debtor do the same thing!
Where are they getting the money? Is there some new money lender in town trying to muscle in on his business?  Is that damnable money lender behind this?  Or is there something else going on?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
