Adventure Academy Part 2: Haunted Ruins Adventure

Aspiring Adventurers explore the Haunted Ruinsathrough this gamebook as they learn a simplified version of OpenD6 (Part 2).  Improve your character while reading the story and learning how to use skills to perform actions and do battle.  Search for traps, fight Ghosts, jump over giant holes, and find sparkling gems all while searching for the adults kidnapped by Inferno the Angry Dragon. 

This game is a solo game for kids using a Follow Your Own Path Adventure with the OpenD6 gaming system.  I have broken the rules down, simplified them, and separated them into different sections for Adventure Academy.  Part 2 (what you have here) adds skills, combat, and some equipment.

The gameplay instructions are incorporated into the story.  Kids pick up where they left off in Part 1, at the entrance of the ruins.  They head back to Adventure Academy to improve their character and a couple lessons.  Then they continue the Follow Your Own Path Adventure at the start of the Haunted Ruins.   The Part 2 adventure ends at the entrance to the dungeon, where Inferno the Dragon holds the adults in prison.  Part 3 (coming next) will pick up here, teach about Special Points, maps and Equipment and will take them through the dungeon below……

Included is a numbered map of the ruins, a combat summary card and a page of 9 monster cards.  The combat summary card allows for a quick reference when learning the combat process.  The monster cards can be used to do practice combat rounds with your kid before they play this game.  I found that having practice battles with my daughter cleared up her confusion with combat and she was then able to sit and play by herself.
