Outpost Utility Truck is a collection of 3D printable files that can be built into a variety of six-wheeled science fiction trucks. They have been designed to print easily and to work with a variety of 28-32mm scale figures. They can be used for scatter terrain on a sci-fi tabletop for a variety of systems like Games Workshop Warhammer 40K and Warhammer 40k Kill Team, Corvus Bellis Infinity, and many other sci-fi and post-apocalyptic games.

Games Workshop figures are for scale only. Warhammer 40,000 universe is either ®, TM and/or © Copyright Games Workshop Ltd 2000-2018, variably registered in the UK and other countries around the world. Used without permission. No challenge to their status intended. All Rights Reserved to their respective owners. Cargo is from Thingiverse, and is for demonstration only.

Components

Included in Outpost Utility Truck are a variety of core components and variant pieces:

  • Truck Cabin: in two variants, and with three different backs that can be applied.
  • Chassis: in long and short versions.
  • Axle set: including left and right steering variants.
  • Wheels: with three different types of wheel design, and a plain rubber tire for cargo.
  • Truck Tray: with four variants and a working tailgate.
  • Extras: four extra pieces that can add additional variety to the finished vehicles.

Printing

The pieces are designed to be printed on a home 3D printer with:

  • A 0.4mm nozzle.
  • 0.08 - 0.1 mm layer height.
  • 15 - 20% infill.
  • Supports are only required for a few of the .STL files.
  • Rafts may be required for the smaller parts, depending on your 3D printer.
The largest part is 90mm long, so this kit can be printed on a 100mm or larger build plate.

All .STL files are oriented correctly so you can load them into your slicer and print immediately. The parts have been designed to print face-up for the best detail. All .STL files were sliced using Cura and test printed on a Creality Ender 3.

I noticed there are no STL's in the zip file for the railings for the various other beds...

The railings are made from bent garden wire that fit into the bed holes. You'll find the other beds under the tray/ folder included in the ZIP file.

Hi, text says these are for FDM printers. Bit of a novice. Will they also work for SLA? Would like to get them to be contracted printed for me and just checking before I buy them. Thanks.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
