Map making can be time-consuming and sometimes frustrating for GMs, especially GMs with limited time to begin with. In our new 'GM's Maps' range, we will be providing a range of pre-made maps for you to use in your games.

High above the surrounding countryside, with a commanding view, stands the impressive Schloss – a large castle built to be he home of a powerful and rich noble family. One of our largest maps so far, the Schloss has five above ground floors and a basement. Weighing in at over 250 rooms in all the Schloss is suitable for historical, modern, near future or fantasy games.

Also included in this product are several adventure hooks that you can use as inspiration for your own adventures and scenarios.

Examples:

1/. Dr. Doomsday The Cross Boss of the Posh Schloss (Pulp or Espionage)

The party have tracked their arch nemesis to his Alpine hide out, an old Schloss that he has peopled with henchmen, traps and all manner of fiendish devices to stop the agents/heroes from thwarting his evil plans. His doomsday device is hidden somewhere in the rambling old building guarded by trained yeti's, wolves and henchmen with freeze rays while the Schloss is dotted with exploding ice statues and robot penguins armed with hand grenades that look like snowballs.
Can the heroes reach the doomsday machine and stop the dastardly Dr. Doomsday before his plan comes to fruition or will they be chilled to discover they are too late?
(Concept by Jo Donegan)

2/. A Thing out of Time (Time Travel or Warped Reality/Portal Fantasy)

A strange artefact that resided in the Schloss has fractured and caused time dilation and other temporal effects. The players are among those trapped in the Schloss until the various pieces of the artefact can be reunited and used to heal the time schism, returning normality to the space-time within the Schloss itself.

The characters must use the various (and possibly moving) time gates to move around several versions of the building form different periods in its history – following various clues to find the missing parts of the artefact. Be careful though, for when the last part is united the time effects end and everyone inside the Schloss finds themselves in whatever time period they were in when the last piece of the artefact was united with the others. The party must be careful to make sure the last piece they retrieve is the one form their own time. For added difficulty three may be other groups from other times trying to unite the same artefact to get back to their own time.

For a variation on this, you might use different dimensional versions of the Schloss form different dimensions instead of different times.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
