Akhamet Campaign Setting

ADD TO WISHLIST >

For twenty five centuries, the rule of Pharaoh, the living embodiment of the Sun, brought peace, prosperity, and stability to Akhamet.

Then His high priest announced He was dying.

Inspired by the mythology of Ancient Egypt, Akhamet is a campaign setting that takes you to a place both unique and familiar.

  • The Akhameti Pantheon, headed by Pharaoh, with Anubis, Bast, Geb, Horus, but also Seth, Sobek, and Tawaret the Destroyer
  • Eight new races, including the jackal-headed Anubians, to the goat-headed Numru and the half-divine Retids: the children of Pharaoh!
  • A world where the dead rise, and not just because of mummification!
  • New backgrounds including Pharaoh’s Wife, or the Order of Lost Prince where you learned from the ancient mummies, or the architect planning and building massive pyramids!
  • New feats, spells, magic items
  • 16 new monsters, you can include into your campaign with short encounters featuring the creatures.

A sandstorm is coming for 5th edition.

Hello,

My comment today is not to make an update on a typo but to give you a feedback on my upcoming campaign in Akhamet.

The campaign name is the Fate's Chosen and they will have to choose Pharao's Fate :).

One of my player has created the Vulpesians, a fox like anthropomorphic species which live in the desert and who are usually despised by other Akhameti species because they have not been created by a god.

Another player wanted to play a Cleric of Isis so I have added Isis to the Akhameti pantheon but I have not much idea a about her background in the setting yet.

Page 69: Numru are peaceful, quiet, and introspective, preferring quiet, private pursuits. They dislike violence and only engage in it when they see no other course of action. They prefer the safety of cities and settlements to...

To what exactly ? :)

What do the Horyrehmet look like?

The Campaign Setting leaves them willingly vague so you can put whatever you want. Tawaret the Destroyer is their associated deity. FOE products present our "official" version wherein the Horyrehmet and the First Ones from other products are one and the same. They appear as black humanoids similar to drow elves but replacing the lithe gracefulness of the elves with feel of raw power.

"Power is Fickle" deals with them exclusively and explains their use, goals, and abilities. It has a little of info about Akhamet, including NPCs, magic items, and their goals and views about it.
I am biased but think it a great addition to the FOE- universe...

Thanks for your answer.

Yes I read that they are linked to the First One from Tyrants of Sarragar but I don't have this setting.

I would like to present the universe to my players the 1st of Ney Year. Among the published adventures, what would be the best one ?

A very good question... The following adventures present the setting but in a finite environment and I think would be the best to start with. Most of my own players, I introduced through "Neferheket."

"Lost Pyramid of Neferheket" (https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/271759/Akhamet-Lost-Pyramid-of-Neferheket?affiliate_id=316083) was the first one written and presents many elements of the setting and would perhaps be my #1 choice. It is a dungeoncrawl with some elements outside of the dungeon.

"Tomb of Prince Tsubeteb" (https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/271763/Akhamet-Tomb-of-Prince-Tsubeteb?affiliate_id=316083) introduces different elements and has a dungeoncrawl.

Thanks for the answer. I don't know if my players wants a dungeon crawl but as the publisher I take your advice in consideration :) .

The reason I made dungeoncrawls as intro/demo games is because it allowed me to present certain elements while not having the players run off after whatever random element you mention. Mind you, these are not very long crawls (both adventures run in about 4h)

Panacea is much longer and has more classic D&D element with it (exploration, some crawl). It is a good follow up if the PCs like it. But I would not use it as a "welcome to the setting" adventure.

Regardless, let me know how it goes, I love to hear how games set in any FOE setting went.

Okay, pernicious... So I added a full-sized map and a separate Errata. I will have to find a way to get that all in. In the meantime, I have disabled the Full-size view but expanded the Flash preview to 20 pages. I will revisit this and address the core of the issue "shortly"

Hey Yann, I apologize for this delay.
The strife domain appears in "Service is Eternal" (https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/224541/Tyrants-of-Saggakar-Service-is-Eternal-5e)
The Artifice Domain appear in "Rhym Campaign Setting" (https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/212020/Rhym-Campaign-Setting-5e)

That said, I will make an errata and update the PDF with those.

1- Yes, I will add them
2- They are there, but in an odd location on the next page, just below the spells, making it very hard to locate. This was brought up to my attention and will be changed and updated
3- Paladins and Rangers are "divine casters", they were omitted for space consideration.

A suggestion of mine :) : it could be a good idea to explain how the character classes are integrated in the setting. I suppose that an Akhameti Bard or Druid is not the same thing than a Sword Coast equivalent ;-)

Great! Do not hesitate to let us know what happens! Using Akhamet as a setting extension is exactly why we designed it that way: so you can plug it into your existing campaign setting.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
