Scenario 6 - The Ritual

The primitives sometimes call them “Sorcerors of Taboo”, if they talk about them at all. The priests of the new religions call them “Witches” and constantly try to raise posses or angry mobs wielding flame and pitchforks.

Riddled with cancer, they roam the most dangerously unstable parts of the ghost cities, building armies of enslaved spirits as their bodies are ravaged by the same radiation that weakened the barriers between worlds. In the most corrupted places they invoke dark rituals that should have been left forgotten, and others that should never have been known in the first place.

The most dangerous rituals can summon great hordes of monsters at one time, but these take time (sometimes days or weeks) and obscure ritual components. Someone has been buying these components over the past few weeks, and psychic ripples across the ghost city indicate a powerful disturbance in the fields of reality.

Someone needs to disrupt the ritual before the great hordes arrive. Once they are here, the settlement will be over-run and years of struggle to rebuild the community will have been for nothing.

Ghost City Raiders is a game for two or more players using the Pocketmod format. Eight tiny pages describe everything you need to know in order to play the game. Each player gets an eight page booklet that describes their character, and the ways the rules change for them. The specific stories are told in the form of eight page scenario booklets.
