Cataphract - Fighter Archetype For 5th Edition D&D

Rding through the battlefield, comes the warrior of the emperor. His shield is one of steel, his armor gleams in the light of the midday sun. He steadies his lance, and for the briefest moment his foe can see his life lash before his eyes. Then, the lance embeds itself in his heart, and the enemy falls to the mud, dead. The rider continues to the next foe, and that's that. No one can best the imperial cataphracts in combat.

Cataphracts are raised as master cavalry to serve in imperial armies. They are uncontested with their use of the lance and the shield, and their marksmanship is renowned throughout the land.
